Mortgage applications increased 1.1% from one week earlier, according to data from the Mortgage Bankers Associations (MBA) Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey for the week ending May 9, 2025. On an unadjusted basis, the index increased 1% compared with the previous week. The seasonally adjusted purchase index was a bright spot this week, increasing 2% from one week earlier.

Bough ruled Monday that Berkshire Hathaway Energy (BHE), the parent company of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices , and Crye-Leike will not be allowed to transfer the Gibson suit to their respective home states of Iowa and Tennessee. The Court holds that severing this case into multiple duplicative cases does not serve the interest of justice [or] judicial economy, Bough wrote.
