As I mentioned in last Wednesday’s blog post, this article appeared in the Toronto Star: “Toronto Property Listings Are Being Cancelled At ‘Unprecedented’ Rates”. Here’s Durham Region: In both May and June, Durham Region saw a 40% termination rate, compared to 33% and 36% TRREB-wide. But damn, look at the gap!

Peel, York, and Durham Region lead the way. As noted last week, the average sale price in Durham Region in September of 2020 was $734,038, but that rose, in twelve short months, to $968,136. Have a look: I’ve heard stories about what’s happening in Durham Region this fall, but I haven’t experienced it myself.

TorontoRealtyBlog Not even one comment about the new blog? And nobody noticed that Monday’s blog extended into Wednesday and that I posted on Thursday instead. This was both a function of launching the new version of Toronto Realty Blog, as well as TRREB releasing the September stats on Wednesday instead of Tuesday.

I tried to get some perspective and think about people with far, far worse ailments than a damn ankle, but sometimes you just can’t convince yourself to listen to your own common sense. Who knew there was more cyclicality in Toronto versus Durham, York, Halton, and Peel? I had to call my wife and get her to come pick me up.
