In our latest real estate tech entrepreneur interview, we’re speaking with Seemant Nakra from Next Brick Property Management.

Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Seemant Nakra, and I’m a hotelier, an entrepreneur, and a real estate investor. I founded Next Brick Property Management Company in 2019, intending to dedicate all resources and expertise to deliver simple, transparent, streamlined property management experience to the rental property owners in the greater Seattle area.

After graduating from Shannon College in Ireland, I held several leadership positions in luxury hotels. I overlook the daily hotel operations and drew up budget and revenue strategies and successfully increased hotel revenue by 1 million by focusing on providing excellent customer service and tightening standard operating procedures.

I started to invest in real estate in 2013. Over the next five years, I have acquired several properties in MA and TX and broker licenses in WA and TX. In 2014, I began to renovate distressed homes in Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio, TX, with an approach to add significant value with a functional design. I completed 14 renovations over two years. I also invested in the real estate crowdfunding platform and served as a board of advisors for two years.

While being active in the renovation world, I was managing my personal rental properties, and I was approached by my partners to manage their rental properties. While doing so, I realized there was a void between simple, transparent, streamlined property management service and excellent customer service. I often found my calls are not answered, and voice is not heard; bills are higher than expected while dealing with traditional property managers. This led my passion for starting Next Brick Property Management to refine the property management experience with a simple concept of aligning our interest with those of our owners’.

What problem does your product/service solve?

We are refining the whole “Being a Landlord” experience. Being a landlord comes with significant risk, and we are focusing on minimizing their risk while increasing their income. Next Brick Property Management proudly covers the risk of landlord up to $15,000. We offer rental income protection, property damage protection, eviction protection as well as provide funds to the landlords for emergency repairs.

What are you most excited about right now?

We are working to refine the property management business, One step at a time. We recently hired a property manager to serve rental property owners in pierce county, and now we are actively looking to add property manager for Snohomish county. We are also looking at the areas to advance our technology to make real estate investing, renting more transparent and convenient.

What’s next for you?

Growth – We are proving our concept and business model in the greater Seattle area, and we will continue to refine our systems, processes, and invest in training and hiring associates. Early next year, we will begin exploring other markets like Spokane, Bellingham, and Vancouver.

What’s a cause you’re passionate about and why?

The Abor Day Foundation inspires me. We are committed to planting four trees for every tenant living or lived in Next Brick managed properties.

We have donated directly to the Abor day foundation to plant over 250 trees on our behalf to make the world a cleaner and greener place. Ourselves, we recently being plant trees in the neighborhoods and yards of properties we manage.
