It may not be the cheapest rental out there, but this one-bedroom on the garden level of an 1898 Romanesque Revival townhouse in the Park Slope Historic District has attractive vintage details, modern updates and a shared backyard.

The pale brick and stone row house at 522 2nd Street has a dog-leg stoop and bow front. The four-room apartment is nicely laid out, with a fairly luxurious kitchen for a rental.

There are wood floors, moldings, white walls and French doors throughout. The front door opens into a petite hall with a coat closet. Beyond is the living room with one window and a niche with recessed lighting, which could fit bookshelves or a sofa.

The galley-style kitchen, located in an extension with a door to the rear yard, has dark granite counters, white subway tile walls and plenty of Shaker-style white cabinetry. While there is no dishwasher, it does have a washer/dryer and a pantry closet.

The bedroom is in the front room, the house’s original dining room, which has a closet, tin ceiling and bay window. A windowless middle room could work as a dining room or office.

The all-white bathroom lacks a window but has a hex tile floor, tub with shower, pedestal sink and subway tile on the walls.

No pets are allowed but there is “massive” dedicated storage space in the cellar, according to the listing. The backyard, shared with the owners in the upstairs triplex, has a paved stone patio, raised area with seating, plants in containers and wood fence.
