Have A Great Long Weekend!

The fact that I don’t have an actual photo of my own family to post today, instead of a stock image, speaks volumes about how I run my family-unit.

Perhaps that’s why I feel a getaway for the clan is in order.

You get to a certain point in your life when you do more think about your kids than you do yourself.

You also get to a certain point in your life when you sound a lot like those people that were older than you, when you were younger, who talked about “that point in your life,” and to whom you muttered under your breath, “Okay, old man.”

So we’re getting out of dodge for a few days (where does that expression come from?) and I’ll be back on Tuesday with a new blog post.

I’m in the office on Monday afternoon (oh, the irony about the actual Family Day….) so if you have suggestions for blog topics, let me know!

The reference is from a television show that’s well before your time.

David: are you seeing properties not appraise at the purchase price? Are appraisers being conservative? Are buyers making offers conditional on appraisal? Would love a topic on this. Thank you.

Enjoy your weekend off with your family David, it’s precious time that you can’t get back. You talk a lot about selling strategies, any new trends in offers – can you make conditional offers these days?

I would like to hear your thoughts about the super-expensive rentals (10K+ per month).

If I had a mansion (or super penthouse) that would command that much rent, why would I want to rent it out and have a stranger live in there? Surely if I could afford $5+M to buy the place, keeping it empty shouldnt cost that much…

How about your thoughts on the next mayor of Toronto? That’s one way to stimulate the Tuesday morning conversation.

    Discussion topics:

Just from spending yesterday walking around my neighbourhood – all these signs have appeared denouncing highway 413. They propose building transit instead.

So, OK, that works. I don’t go up there anyway. If a bunch of people I don’t know end up sitting in traffic because a highway isn’t built…well as long as it isn’t me, right?

Stop the 413! Use the money to build subways for me, in Toronto.

But then one of the groups involved caught my eye.

This group is also trying to stop the construction of the Ontario Line.

Too many trees have to be killed (even though they are planting them back 2 for one and environmental groups, when they are conducting forestry campaigns on behalf of the billionaires who fund them, seem to agree that cutting down trees is a good thing..because the trees grow back).

So now I am confused. Build transit, but don’t build it really. Pretend transit?

I don’t know. Long weekends make you think about things I guess

Hello. Have a great long weekend as well.
Can you please do a blog post on the time it takes for Toronto pre-construction condos to be built? During COVID-19, I’ve heard many horror stories of people buying pre-con condos before the pandemic, then they were significantly delays, with developers blaming the pandemic, supply shortages, etc. Was wondering if these delays are common, or it’s just a few bad apples that people are reporting. Would be cool to see a breakdown of recent projects and whether they were delayed.

That house you mentioned on Langford Avenue (you blacked out the address but we knew what it was) ended up selling for $250k less than what the owners paid for it.

You mention how this is common in the suburbs and have done some features in it, but how about some examples of this in the 416?

        Huh? Wrong thread?
