The Prestwick Mortgage Group , an Alexandria, Virginia-based advisory and brokerage firm, has unveiled an offering for a $1.6 billion package of Fannie Mae , Freddie Mac and Ginnie Mae mortgage-servicing rights (MSRs). The bulk of the 7,189 loans in the MSR offering put out to bid this week were originated in Florida and the Midwest, according to the offering documents — which list Prestwick as the exclusive broker and indicate bids are due July 12.

Home prices are beginning to cool

Home price increases slowed just a touch in April, and there’s a strong likelihood that home prices will cool further, a recent report shows. Prices rose 20.4% nationally in April compared with the same month a year ago, according to the latest S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Index report. In March, home prices grew 20.6%. The 10-city composite annual increase was 19.7%, up from 19.5% in March.
