Role Description:

As Product Manager within Avail , you’ll join a Product Development team composed of Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, and Marketers solving very large pain points in the rental industry and journey. You’ll be responsible for a significant and strategic component of the Realtor.com Rentals tech stack, user journey, and long-term ambition.

Your primary responsibility will be to partner closely with Engineers, Designer, and Marketers, in the execution phase of their software development life cycle, to deliver features to their rental community that delight. Additionally, you’ll also work closely with Engineering and Operations to support their payment and payment ops products, which includes ACH/card payments, know your customer (KYC) policies, and tax compliance requirements. Finally, you’ll work closely with Engineering to sunset older technologies in favor of more efficient and more cost-effective solutions. Your domain will skew execution and back-end (technical, API, data). However, a large portion of the current roadmap includes front-end solutions and interfaces for Renters, Landlords, and internal users.

What you will do:

  • Create and socialize a compelling roadmap and outline how we’ll achieve it together
  • Thoroughly understand your domain and thoughtfully prioritize investments in your roadmap aligned to KRs
  • Measure your team’s impact and success against KRs
  • Work closely with your engineering partner and stakeholders to identify solution approaches that can be both build or buy
  • Shape and present opportunities to the company, executive team, and partners
  • Own quantitative funnels and metrics to identify product opportunities and problems
  • Evangelize a data-driven DNA throughout the entire organization
  • Continuously monitor and communicate project health through metrics
  • Interface with a globally distributed team
  • Own products and features throughout the SDLC process
  • Create and maintain a product backlog with epics, user stories, UATs, and specifications
  • Run agile / scrum ceremonies
  • Partner with Design to plan and shape workflow enhancements
  • Ideate, execute, monitor, and provide a feedback loop on A/B or multivariate tests
  • Develop, plan, and execute user acceptance testing
  • Product demos, training, and documentation for customer support
  • Direct strategic sales and product initiatives with partners
  • Own some 3rd party tech product integrations and relationships
  • Be a steward of their product and design ethos, company values, and compliance/security requirements

Role Requirements:

  • BS, BA, MBA from an accredited university with business, STEM, quantitative discipline
  • 5+ years of product management experience
  • 2+ years of agile software development experience
  • Demonstrated experience identifying product opportunities and problems via quantitative product analytics and qualitative feedback channels
  • Expertise in identifying manual processes and automating them
  • Expertise conducting A/B and multivariate experiments
  • Expertise with web and product analytic software such as Looker, Mixpanel, Heap, Google Analytics
  • Expertise in planning, roadmapping, estimating, and prioritization
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to create diverse artifacts such as executive presentations, roadmaps, project specs, UI copy, and UATs
  • Evangelist of product management process and principles
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, making hard decisions, and trade-offs quickly while iterating on innovative solutions
  • Respectful approach to guide, encourage (and even inspire!) a cross-functional team to allow each person to uniquely shine and contribute
  • Soft skills set including communication, friendly, approachable, open to ideas, generous giver and receiver of feedback

Nice to haves:

  • Product Owner or Scrum master training / experience
  • Experience with fintech, ACH/card payments, payment operations, and know your customer (KYC) domains
  • Passion for or detailed understanding of proptech, fintech, real estate investing, property management, landlording, or real estate industries
  • Experience delivering cloud based, microservice (API) architectures
  • Engineering experience
