Green-Wood cemetery is a visual treat at any time of year but spring brings a special riot of color across the open space.

There are more than 7,000 trees growing in the vast acreage of the historic cemetery and it is a nationally accredited Level III Arboretum. For those more familiar with the historic monuments and markers, a spring walking tour offers a chance to learn more about the numerous species and cultivars that are at home in the cemetery.

The “Great Trees of Green-Wood” tour is offered on Sunday, March 28 and Sunday, April 25 from 2 to 3 p.m. Tickets are $25 or $20 for members. For more information and to purchase tickets visit the event page online.
