Riccione, Italy is full of magic that comes from the friendliness of its inhabitants, the richness of the territory, and the collective desire to live well. The first town plan for this city dates back to 1880, which was inspired by the “dream” of transforming Riccione into a garden with tree-lined avenues and villas surrounded by flora and fauna. It is for this reason, and a return of purchase and rental demand in the housing market, that Coldwell Banker has recently expanded into the Emilia Romagna region with Coldwell Banker Prime Properties – Riccione.

“Riccione has always been a popular destination for those who want to live in an exclusive place full of services. Our agency allows its customers to sell or find their dream home in the neighboring coastal areas or in the Romagna hinterland. We offer high-quality services, thanks to the presence of a team of experienced professionals in the sector,” Eleonora Ciucci, Broker Manager of Coldwell Banker Prime Properties said. The pandemic has brought a reaffirmation for the desire of house replacements and central real estate investments, which encouraged Coldwell Banker Italy to rethink the way this office could be used. “Thanks to a partnership with Bertone Design, we have created a new format for this office that transforms the traditional real estate agency into a place for meeting and sharing,” Roberto Gigio President of Coldwell Banker Italy, proudly shares. Where do you live: Riccione, a town on the Riviera Romagnola

What is the perfect weekend day like: In summer, a weekend in Riccione stands for “beach and fun”. Padel, beach volleyball for the more athletic and dynamic people, a dinner in the hills for the most romantic, clubs on the beach for those who want music and lightheartedness. As Pier Vittorio Tondelli writes, seaside towns like Riccione “accord with the natural rhythm of the changing seasons” and the charm lies precisely in this, in discovering the beauty and atmosphere that distinguishes them every moment of the year and makes them unique.

What are the common modes of transportation there: Our area offers many cycling routes, so bikes and scooters are our favorite means of transport, even in the hinterland where you can admire the landscapes of the hills. The car allows you to easily reach the villages or Rimini.

Tell us about the foods your area is known for: Emilia Romagna is mainly known for Bolognese Tagliatelle, probably one of the best-known dishes in the world when it comes to Italian cuisine. In reality there are many delicacies from our area, such as stuffed tortellini and passatelli. In Riccione, in particular, you can find the answer to every need of the palate. On the table there will never be a lack of “piada”, a symbol of Romagna cuisine, to be enjoyed hot together with ham and salami, or by spreading soft cheeses such as “squacquerone”. And then the first courses, fish cooked in every way and all delicious, accompanied by DOC wines and extra virgin olive oil D.O.P. “Hills of Romagna”.

What is your favorite meal? At home or at a restaurant: In Emilia Romagna, food is a moment of conviviality, which is why making handmade pasta and sharing it with family and friends is a real ritual! As well as the Romagna’s “piadina”, a simple and convivial dish that creates moments of joy and sharing. Even the restaurants here are able to maintain high cooking traditions and are ideal for those who do not know how to cook or have little time to devote to cooking.

Where do you recommend someone vacation in your region, why: Certainly Riccione, our town! It has always been the perfect destination for families and young people, but also for those who want an elegant and peaceful place to enjoy their holidays. Here you will find big hotels and beautiful seaside facilities, with equipped beaches and even playgrounds for families. In the summer evenings, it is rich in events and also in winter it has an incredible charm.

What is your favorite recreational or leisure time activity: A great passion is walking on the beach and cycling along the promenade. If you want to go shopping there is the renowned Viale Ceccarini with the most beautiful shop windows, while, for sports, there are numerous gyms and equipped parks. Here is the home of wellness and sport.

Is there a specialty your area is known for: The whole territory offers a lot, from the nightlife of the Riviera to the enchanting villages on the hills. To make it famous, there is also the passion for motorcycles and cycling that has seen the birth of international stars such as Valentino Rossi in MotoGP and Marco Pantani in cycling. Certainly, the thing that makes it most famous is the well-being of living there, a feeling that not all places can give you.

Share a little known but interesting fact about the area/region: A few kilometers from Riccione, the Romagna countryside welcomes small medieval villages of great historical and literary interest from which you can admire the whole coast. These villages are still inhabited and alive with cultural and food and wine traditions in every season.

If you were to live in any other region where we have a Coldwell Banker presence, where would it be and why: It’s a difficult question because here the quality of life is very high. Despite the beautiful cities we have in Italy, I love places that tell a story and “real” contact with people. For this reason, the other destination is the Island of Elba, in Tuscany where we already have our own agency. At a working level they are both realities that offer a lot and where being Coldwell Banker allows you to satisfy a more attentive and demanding clientele.

Territory Summary:

The city of Riccione has a relatively “young” history, albeit with traces of early settlements dating back to the 2nd century BC and is identified with the birth of tourism in the mid-19th century: from a rural seaside village, dedicated to agriculture and sparsely populated (about 1800 inhabitants) in a few decades it became a well-known tourist resort in Italy and Europe. The first town plan of the city, inspired by the “dream” of transforming Riccione into a garden with tree-lined avenues and villas surrounded by greenery, dates back to 1880. After the Second World War, the beach holiday was within everyone’s reach and the 1950s marked the birth of the famous trendy clubs. It is the boom of mass tourism and Riccione becomes a famous and sought-after seaside resort. Crossed by the Rio Melo, it extends in the central-eastern part of the province, along the Romagna coast, between the Adriatic Sea and the municipalities of Rimini, Coriano and Misano Adriatico. A well-known seaside resort, Riccione bases its economy above all on tourism; developed are also the tertiary sector and the industrial fabric.
