Tamar Braxton recently shelled out $2,475,000 to snag a brand-new modern farmhouse-style home in Sherman Oaks, CA. The reality TV star and singer closed on the home in mid-September and managed to knock $20,000 from the original asking price.

Finished this summer, the home offers six bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, and 3,800 square feet of living space. It has an open floor plan ideal for entertaining, and the listing details describe a residence with “elegant finishes, high-quality hardwood floors, and beamed ceilings equipped with recessed lighting.”

The gourmet kitchen features Thermador stainless-steel appliances, quartz countertops, and custom-built cabinets.

The kitchen island has a built-in breakfast table as well as an extra sink. For additional storage, the kitchen comes equipped with a pantry.

A family room offers an inviting fireplace, perfect for relaxing evenings.

A spacious master suite has another fireplace, plus a walk-in closet, and a private balcony. The en suite master bathroom offers double vanities, a walk-in shower, and soaking tub.

Other highlights include a built-in surround sound system, a security system, a wine closet, and an office.

The backyard features a pool with a waterfall, a hot tub, a built-in barbecue, and a fire pit. For overnight guests, there’s a detached one-bedroom cabana. The home is close to the shopping and dining options that line Ventura Boulevard.

Braxton’s new digs are the end result of a total teardown and profitable flip. The three-bedroom home that previously existed on this lot was marketed as a deal for contractors or investors and was being sold in as-is condition.

A local builder paid $907,000 for the property in July 2019. A year later, the brand-new home was on the market for $2,495,000.

Before this purchase, Braxton lived in a huge mansion in Calabasas, CA. She bought the home in 2013 for $10.5 million. Braxton and her ex-husband, the music executive Vincent Herbert, sold the estate for a loss in 2018 at a price of $9.25 million.

Braxton, 43, began her career as a member of the family singing group, The Braxtons, with her sisters Toni, Trina, and Towanda. Since 2011, she’s starred in her own reality show, “Braxton Family Values.” Season 7 of the show is set to premiere in early November.

Dee Crawford with Keller Williams Beverly Hills represented Braxton. The seller was represented by Nina Asor with John Hart Real Estate.
